Error description
On systems with 1 CPU, when XLSMPOPTS=startproc=0 is set, the following message is output when the application runs: 1587-138 the specified place list is invalid 'cores', reverting to default. The message is caused by the XLSMPOPTS default stride=0 setting, which is not a valid setting.
Local fix
Set XLSMPOPTS=startproc=0:stride=1
Problem summary
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For the case where stride is not specified or is 0, the default stride is set to 0, which is not a valid setting. USERS AFFECTED: Anyone using -qsmp and using XLSMPOPTS=startproc to bind threads to processors.
Problem conclusion
The default stride setting has been changed to 1 to avoid this issue and make XLSMPOPTS more intuitive.
