  The problem affects the users invoking compiler options -pg
  together with -O2.
  

Local fix

• Pre-process the source file to .i file first or use -O2
  together with -g8 or -g only.

• The compiler no longer generates bad file number for optimized
  out variables, so that gprof does not issue messages.
