APAR status

Error description

  • Running the syncGroupMembershipForGroups.bat admin task to
synchronize group membership might not work if the IBM Business
Process Manager (BPM) installation path contains a space (blank)
 character.

When you try to run this task, you see the following sequence of
messages. The specific argv variable depends on your
installation path and the used parameters.

environment and are available as arguments that are stored in

Local fix

  • Instead of running

syncGroupMembershipForGroups.bat -u <user> -p <password> -host
<host> -port <port> <group>

call

wsadmin -lang jython -conntype SOAP -user <user> -password
<password> -host <host> -port <port> -c
"AdminTask.BPMSyncGroupMembershipForGroupsTask('[-groupNames
[group]]')"

To synchronize multiple groups, provide a blank separated list
in the  [ ]  array.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • A fix that enables you to run the
syncGroupMembershipForGroups.bat admin task in an environment
that has a space in the installation path will be included in a
future release of Business Automation Workflow.
