Error description

  • When you place items into a content box instance that has its
layout preview set to one at a time, it acts as a tabbed element
in the web IBM Process Designer. This causes a problem when you
try to select a subelement as the target for a boundary event
    line. The following behavior occurs:

-The first tab of the content displays as open when the control
picker window opens, which allows you to select anything for the
boundary event on that first tab successfully.
-Any tab after the first that has only a single item in it (such
as a button) to be selected as the target for the boundary event
because clicking the tab is like clicking the component so the
tab click selects a contained button for the boundary event.

The problem is that any tab after the first that has a
collection of coach views in it becomes unselectable as a
target. When you click the tab to switch to it, Process Designer
thinks you selected the containing coach view as the target and
    immediately closes the picker window.

The BPM UI toolkit Tab control doesn't experience the problem
because the BPM UI Tab control doesn't fire boundary events.
Therefore, clicking the tabs to switch between isn't valid,
preventing the picker modal from closing when the tab is
    clicked.

Local fix

  • Temporarily move the tab that has the control you want to select
to the first position, set the boundary event, and then move
    the order back.

Problem summary

  • No additional information is available.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix will be available in a future release of Business
Automation Workflow that ensures you can select any coach view
for boundary events regardless of its location in a coach
    layout.
