Error description

• You might see incorrect validation errors related to data
  mapping, such as the following example, in the web IBM Process
  Designer after changes are made to a client-side human service:
  
  The input mapping on element<...> does not map to the correct
  name for variable <...>

  IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)
  IBM BPM Express
  IBM Business Automation Workflow
  

Local fix

• Reset the service that the call activity step uses:
  
  1. Click the activity that matches the element name in the error
  2. Note all the settings in each of the property tabs: the
  Implementation, Data Mapping and Pre&Post tabs.
  3. In the Implementation tab, use the Select button to select a
  different service.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Use the Select button again to select the service you
  originally selected.
  6. Re-populate each of the tabs with the original information
  you noted in step 2.
  7. Click Save.
  

Problem summary

• You might receive an incorrect validation error in a situation
  similar to the following example:
  
  You have a service flow with three inputs.
  You add the service flow to a client-side human service and map
  three variables to the three inputs.
  You go back to the service flow and delete one of the inputs.
  You go back to the client-side human service and see only two
  input mappings, delete the unused variable from the client-side
  human service, and receive an unexpected validation error.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix that ensures you don't receive the incorrect validation
  error will be available in a future release of Business
  Automation Workflow.
