APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When you try to use bpmext from within a data change event, an
exception occurs stating that bpmext is not defined. However, if
 a boundary event occurs before the data change event, the
bpmext is defined and no exception occurs.

Local fix

  • Add a button that has no connections so a boundary event doesn't
 occur when it is programmatically clicked and set its
visibility to Hidden so it is not displayed in the coach page.

Also, add the following line to the "On load" event:
me.click();

Problem summary

  • No additional information is available.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix that ensures the same variables in a script step are
present and available in a data change event will be available
in a future release of IBM Business Automation Workflow.
