Error description

  • When using a custom context root defined in the wc-server.xml,
    any links that are performing a redirect are not constructed
    with the custom context root that has been defined. It is using
    the full context root instead.

Problem summary

    WebSphere Commerce Version 7 and WebSphere Commerce Version 8.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Redirects are not formed using the context root that is
    specified in wc-server.xml
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Shorten root context path does not work when redirection from
    HTTP to HTTPS.
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • Using a custom context root(context-root-rewrite) defined in the
     wc-server.xml to replace the out of box root context.
