Error description

  • When you run or schedule a bot from the control room, you can
    select "Run Bot Runner Session on Control Room". Then the
    control room machine opens a remote desktop to the bot runner
    machine with a fixed screen resolution of 1024 x 745 pixels. If
    your bot requires a larger screen resolution or the same
    resolution that was used when it was developed on a bot creator
    system, your bot might fail.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is included in IBM Robotic Process Automation with
    Automation Anywhere V10.0 CF2018.03 interim fix 001 that
    introduces a configuration option on the control room to define
    a custom screen resolution that is used to open a remote desktop
     to the bot runner.

    After the fix is installed, complete the following steps:

    1, Edit the Enterprise.Setting.xml file located in the
    Automation Anywhere Server Files directory in the public
    documents. The default absolute path is
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Automation Anywhere Server
    Files\Enterprise.Setting.xml.

    2. Add a RemoteMachineConnector section in the ConfigSettings
    element of the XML document that looks like this:

      <RemoteMachineConnector>
        <Default>
           <Setting>
             <Height>1366</Height>
             <Width>768</Width>
             <Port>3389</Port>
           </Setting>
        </Default>
      </RemoteMachineConnector>

    The Height and Width elements define the screen resolution that
    the control room uses for the remote desktop connection to the
    bot runner client. Use a valid combination for Height and Width.
    Those combinations are mentioned in the Display configuration of
    your operating system.

    Port 3389 is the default port of the Remote Desktop Protocol.
