  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce Version 8 Mod Pack 4.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Make addCategoryChildren() available for customization

BUSINESS IMPACT:
With this fix, the performance to populate CATGPENREL of RBSC
could be improved, and customer can decide whether to skip
populating category and SKU relationship.

RECOMMENDATION:

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • 1. Changed the method modifier, so now customization is possible
 to skip SKU persistence.
2. Changed the process to create/update the relationship between
 product(SKU)/category to use batch. Previously, logic would
insert/update the records one by one. During testing, such
change can potentially improve the performance to
create/evaluate the RBSC.
