APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Discovering a REST service in the web IBM Process Designer
generates business objects that are read-only and intended only
for the external service to use. In the case of duplicate names,
a suffix is added to the type name, for example "statesType" for
"operation1" and "statesType_1" for "operation2". However, if
you rediscover the REST service that was previously generated in
a version of IBM Business Process Manager before V8.6, the
suffix of the generated business objects might change. For
example "operation1" uses "statesType_1 and "operation2" might
use "statesType".

As a result, you receive validation errors for type mappings.

Local fix

  • Delete the external service and discover the REST services
again.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix will be available for IBM BPM V8.6 that reads the data
from the previous discovery and uses the same type names again.
If there are changes, such as to the parameter name or to the
restrictions of a type, a new type name is generated.
