Error description

  • In IBM Process Federation Server, when you perform a sorted
query on a business data field, indexes that don't have tasks
that use the business data field should be excluded from the
search. However, if you have two business data fields that have
the same name but different types, and that you perform a sorted
query on this business data field name, then the result does not
exclude indexes with no task defining this business data.

Problem summary

  • No additional information is available.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix will be included in IBM Process Federation Server
cumulative fix 2016.12 that properly excludes indexes from task
queries when the indexes don't contain a task that uses the
    business data field for sorting.

In addition to the fix, a new optional query parameter has been
added to the GET /rest/bpm/federated/v1/tasks task query API.
The optional query parameter named "includeAllIndexes" holds a
Boolean value. It specifies whether indexes with no task that
uses the business data for sorting should be excluded or not
from the results of a sorted task query. The default value is
    'false'.

To determine whether the cumulative fix is available and
download it if it is, complete the following steps on Fix
    Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral):

    1. On the Select product tab, select WebSphere as the product
group, IBM Business Process Manager (Standard or Advanced) from
the WebSphere options, All as the installed version, and All as
the platform, and then click Continue.
    2. In the Text field, enter "cumulative fix?, and click
    Continue.
    3. Download the fix pack named
    "pfs.8570.delta.cf2016.12.repository".
