Error description

  • When you log out from the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)
    Process Inspector, you are directed to the IBM BPM Process
    Inspector log in page, where you can re-enter your credentials
    to log in again. 
    
    However, submitting this page after entering your user name and
    password shows only a blank page and you see the following URL
    in the navigation bar of your browser:
    
    https://<host:port>/ProcessInspector/null
    

Local fix

  • Set the value of the WCCM configuration property
    processAdminCustomLogout to the string "login.jsp" as described
    in the IBM Knowledge Center topic
    "Configuring third-party authentication products":

Problem summary

  • This problem occurs because the logout handling function
    changed.
    When you clicked the logout button in the Process Inspector
    before IBM BPM cumulative fix (CF) 2016.09 was installed, the
    browser was directed to the default login page.
    The WCCM setting for the custom logout page was ignored. With
    the change in CF2016.09, the WCCM setting is honored, but when
    there is no logout page configured the text "null" is set as the
     default on the logout page, leading to this issue.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is included in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2016.12 that
    ensures the correct retrieval of the logout page setting.
    
    To determine whether the cumulative fix is available and
    download it if it is, complete the following steps on Fix
    Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral):
    
    1. On the Select product tab, select WebSphere as the product
    group, IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
    WebSphere options, All as the installed version, and All as the
    platform, and then click Continue.
    2. In the Text field, enter "cumulative fix?, and click
    Continue.
