APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you customized the maximum facet value in WebSphere Commerce
Version 7.0, the max_display value is reset to 20 when you
migrate the database from WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 to
WebSphere Commerce Version 8.0.

Local fix

  • Connect to the database, and then update max_display value in
facet table to the customized value.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce Version 8.0 users who migrated from WebSphere
 Commerce Version 7.0 and customized the maximum facet value.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Maximum facet value reset after migrating database from
WebSphere Commerce Version 7 to WebSphere Commerce Version 8.

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Shoppers who browse the storefront will not experience the
customized facet values.

RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • Removed the values from wcs.features_bootstrap.xml file, and
added an insert action in wcs.data.sql file.

The action will not do anything if the facet_id with max_display
  exists in the FACET table. The action only inserts an entry if
 the default facet_id is absent from the FACET table. Thus, any
customized maximum facet value will not be reset when loading
bootstrap data during database migration.
