Error description

  • While calling a service from a nested client-side human service
(CSHS) in a toolkit where the root CSHS is exposed as a
startable service, dashboard, or URL, you encounter one of the
    following issues:

-The browser page shows an error message starting with: Server
Error (401): Insufficient credentials to access the url
    "/rest/bpm/wle/v1/coachflow/service.
-The called service can't read the exposed process values
    (EPVs).

    PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced
    IBM BPM Standard
    IBM BPM Express

Local fix

  • Move the CSHS that calls the service from the toolkit to the
    main process app.

Problem summary

  • This issue occurs because the wrong context is used when the
service is invoked and this wrong context applies to service
calls made from a stand-alone CSHS when the CSHS is not in the
process app that serves as the root context.

The issue can occur when the service is called from a nested
CSHS that is in a toolkit and the root CSHS is in a process app,
or when the service is called from a root CSHS that is in a
toolkit and is launched from the context of a process app.

The problem does not occur when the root CSHS is used to
    implement a process task.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix will be included in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2016.12
that ensures the correct context is used when the service is
    invoked.

To determine whether the cumulative fix is available and
download it if it is, complete the following steps on Fix
    Central:

    1. On the Select product tab, select WebSphere as the product
group, IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
WebSphere options, All as the installed version, and All as the
    platform, and then click Continue.
    2. In the Text field, enter "cumulative fix", and click
    Continue.
