Error description

  • When attempting to save a language selection as part of an
attachment, an error is displayed "DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-302,
SQLSTATE=22001" (or Oracle equivalent), even though the URL that
 is used is within the database-specified character limit.

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce Version 7 and Version 8 administrators who
use the Assets tool in Management Center.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Database error in the Management Center Assets tool when
attempting to save a URL attachment

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Business users using the Assets tool in Management Center will
not be able to save a URL attachment with a URL length near the
255 character limit.

RECOMMENDATION:

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Validation being performed for attachment assets, specifically
managed files, was suppressed to not be performed on URL
attachment assets.
