Error description

  • When you view the SystemOut.log file, you do not see important
information such as WebSphere Commerce version and server type
(COMMERCE or SEARCH). This information can be helpful when
administrators or IBM Support are troubleshooting issues.

Note: This APAR is superceded by JR55185.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce Version 8 users who want to know the running
version of WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Search
servers.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Add WebSphere Commerce version and server types into system
properties when server starts

BUSINESS IMPACT:
IBM Health Check system cannot detect the the correct server
version and type.

RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • The server code was updated to put the version information into
the JVM system properties and print out the version information
into the SystemOut.log.
