JR54435: "Add to cart" button does not work for products that have single quotes (') in the defining attribute name

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An error is thrown (in console or firebug) when a shopper tries
  to add an item to the cart that is associated with a defining
  attribute that contains single quotes (') in the defining
  attribute name.
  
  The root cause is that the single quote in JSON string causes a
  js error, which prevents users from adding products to cart on
  both Product Details page and Compare page.

  Aurora starter store.
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  "Add to cart" button does not work for products that have single
   quotes (') in the defining attribute name
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Shoppers cannot purchase an item unless the single quotes (')
  are removed.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• Escape defining attributes with names that contain single quotes
   (') by replacing the single quotes with a predefined single
  quote escaping string.
