Error description

• After upgrading to WebSphere Commerce Fixpack 9 with Feature
  Pack 4 (or earlier) installed, quick publish fails due to
  missing schema changes for the table PX_CDPOOL table that was
  introduced in Feature Pack 5 where other queries are depended
  on.

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce V7 business users who are on Fixpack 9 and
  Feature Pack 4 or earlier that use Quick Publish option in
  Management Center for publishing promotion changes.

  Quick publish fails after upgrading to WebSphere Commerce V7
  Fixpack 9 if the Feature Pack level remains at 4 or earlier.
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Business users will not be able to run quick publish
  successfully for publishing emergency fixes related to
  promotions.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• The root cause of the problem is the schema change on PX_CDPOOL
  table that is not present in Feature Pack 4 or earlier.
  
  The fix is to introduce a validation check that will verify the
  schema to see if APAR JR45153 is installed to determine which
  query to execute.
