JR54071: Slow storefront performance due to catalog entries that have a large number of attribute values

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The current catalog service only provides functionality to
  retrieve all attribute values for a catalog entry. There is no
  capability to retrieve specific attributes.
  
  An additional service is needed to retrieve specific attributes
   for a catalog entry (For example "Clearance") so that the
  processing logic does not need to iterate through the whole list
   of attributes.

  WebSphere Commerce Version 7 environments on Fix Pack 8 or

  Slow storefront performance due to catalog entries that have a

  By retrieving specific attributes only, storefront performance
  can be improved.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• A new command
  (InsertMoreCatalogEntryClassicAttributesDataCmdImpl) is
  provided. This command returns specific attributes for a catalog
   entry instead of all attributes for that catalog entry. When
  the classic attribute model is not in use, only the attribute
  dictionary attributes will be examined.
