Error description

  • When faceting against a search index with many index fields (for
    example, over 10000 dynamic columns), faceting queries can cause
    abnormally high CPU usage. Eventually this can cause the CPU to
    max out when there are multiple shoppers browsing concurrently.

Problem conclusion

  • Only applicable facets to the given category and its
    subcategories (in a case of deep search) are returned. In
    addition, the SlowCompositeReaderWrapper from the Lucene runtime
    is also updated to improve its cache efficiency.
