Error description

• The complete catalog is processed even though the pre-process
  tool is executed in delta mode.
  
  The database query used is as follows:
  
  SELECT CATGROUP_ID_CHILD, CATGROUP_ID_PARENT, CATALOG_ID,
  SEQUENCE
  FROM CATGRPREL  WHERE CATALOG_ID IN (SELECT DISTINCT
  CATGPENREL.CATALOG_ID FROM CATGPENREL, TI_CATENTRY_0 CE WHERE
  CATGPENREL.CATENTRY_ID=CE.CATENTRY_ID))
  UNION  (SELECT CATGROUP_ID AS CATGROUP_ID_CHILD, 0 AS
  CATGROUP_ID_PARENT, CATALOG_ID, SEQUENCE FROM CATTOGRP WHERE
  CATALOG_ID IN
  (SELECT DISTINCT CATGPENREL.CATALOG_ID FROM CATGPENREL,
  TI_CATENTRY_0 CE WHERE CATGPENREL.CATENTRY_ID=CE.CATENTRY_ID) )
  ORDER BY
  CATGROUP_ID_CHILD, CATALOG_ID
  
  Processing the complete catalog is time consuming and CPU
  intensive.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce V7.0 users who are not using deep un-publish
  or deep-sequencing and seeing long pre-process times.
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  Search Index pre-process is slow with delta updates
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Indexing turnaround time is relatively long even when deep
  sequencing and deep un-publish feature is disabled
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• If deep un-publish and deep-sequencing are disabled,the
  pre-process tool will skip that logic and avoid processing of
  the complete catalog.
