APAR status

Error description

  • Business process definition (BPD) tasks that do not have all
    fields populated in the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)
    database can cause errors in the Process Federation BPD indexer.
    You might see errors similar to the following errors in the
    messages.log file:
    
    Error creating a task index document.
    com.ibm.bpm.elasticsearch.receiver.spi.IndexingException: Index
    data was not found for indexKeyField=task.tkiid.key
    indexKey=238
    
    These errors might repeat in the log because the retry attempts
    fail.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The Process Federation Server BPD indexer does not handle some
    fields that do not contain data.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.6.0 that ensures that BPD
    indexer can handle any field that does not have data.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR54658:
    
     1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
     2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR54658, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
