APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customers that have applied JR49929 for Feature Pack 5 or 6 find
that Facet caching is not working and no Facet related entries
are added to WCSearchNavigationDistributedMapCache.

Local fix

  • To activate Facet related caching, add the following lines to
the CrossTransactionCache tag attribute settings in the
InstanceProperties tag in the wc-server.xml instance
configuration file:

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce version 7 customers who have installed
Feature Pack 5 or 6 and Fix Pack 8 or 9.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
SearchNavigation cache not working with FEP 5/6 and Fix Pack 8/9

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Performance is not as good as it could be if the caching was
working.

RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • This fix adds the missing cache configuration for FEP 5 and 6
Facet related caching.
