APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When business users are making changes to structured content in
CMC (for example, modifying product descriptions), records are
added to the TI_DELTA_CATENTRY or TI_DELTA_CATGROUP tables.
Then, when the user uses Store Preview, delta indexing is ran to
 index all the recently modified data. However, even if no
unstructured data was modified, unstructured indexing will still
 be triggered. This can cause a performance issue for business
users since unstructured indexing can take longer to run than
structured indexing, due to the processing done on the
unstructured data.

Local fix

  • Run regular delta indexing to prevent a large amount of data
needing to be indexed at once.
