Error description

  • When creating SEO URLs as part of a Dataload, special characters
    are not properly replaced.
This only occurs when running a command line Dataload, and does
not occur when using Catalog Upload.
With foundation tracing enabled, the following error can be
    seen in the logs:
     Jan 30, 2013 9:22:33 PM
    com.ibm.commerce.foundation.internal.common.util.FileHelper
    getFepConfigurationDirectory
FINE: The directory with a relative path
    'config/com.ibm.commerce.infrastructure-fep' was not found; will
    use the default
    'file:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer70/wc.ear/xml/config/com.
    ibm.commerce.infrastructure-fep'.
     Jan 30, 2013 9:22:33 PM
    com.ibm.commerce.foundation.internal.common.util.FileHelper
    getExtConfigurationDirectory
FINE: The directory with a relative path
    'config/com.ibm.commerce.infrastructure-ext' was not found; will
    use the default
    'file:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer70/wc.ear/xml/config/com.
    ibm.commerce.infrastructure-ext'.

This happens because the character replacement feature of the
automated SEO URL keyword generation did not work

Local fix

  • Copy infrastructure-fep to the location indicated in the trace

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
Users generating SEO URLs using command line Dataload

     PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
When using Dataload to create SEO URLs for categories and
products, the generated urlkeywords contain undesirable
characters such as spaces, commas, etc.

     BUSINESS IMPACT:
SEO URLs need to be cleaned up, or SEOURLKEYWORDGEN needs to be
    run to fix SEO URLs

     RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • This fix causes Dataload to also check the infrastructure
directory of the "components" feature pack directory for a list
    of characters to replace.
