    lushUserBehaviorBatchUpdateCache(MarketingEngineCache.java:2544)

The exception appears intermittently in the logs. This situation
can occur where there are web or dialog activities that require
persisting user behavior information to the database (for
example catalog browsing behavior, experiments, non repeatable
    activities).

Local fix

  • Increase the size of the DM_UserCache

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce users on v7.0 who use Management Center
marketing activities that track user behavior

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    BatchUpdateException appears in the logs

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
Customers may not get the correct results from web and dialog
    activities

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • This problem occurs when:
      - user behavior information needs to be recorded for the very
first time for a customer, and
      - the corresponding record in the DM_UserCache is LRU evicted
before the user behavior information has been persisted, and
      - then the user behavior information needs to be updated for
    the customer

The marketing code was fixed to ensure all user behavior records
    are persisted correctly.
