Error description

  • Consider the following scenario:
1. A user configures a Dynamic Kit and adds the kit to their
cart
 2. The user logs out
 3. An administrator updates the pricing of this model in
Sterling Configurator/Visual Modeler (ex. mark-up/mark-down)
 4. The user returns to their cart, but their Dynamic Kit does
not reflect the price update

 Another scenario is as follows:
 When a preconfigured Dynamic Kit is modified (and made possibly
invalid), shoppers may not be made aware of such changes when
adding the kit to their carts.

 PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
 Modified Dynamic Kit configurations are not validated at the
shopping cart

 BUSINESS IMPACT:
 Dynamic Kit changes may not be reflected accurately until after
submitting the order.

Problem conclusion


    

  • With this fix, all Dynamic Kits are validated again when viewing
 the cart. Additionally, preconfigured Dynamic Kits will be
validated again at the time they are added to the cart, as well
as during the PrepareOrder phase.

 The way the Sterling API was invoked has been modified to call
extractPicksFromConfigurationBOM, then generateConfigurationBOM
to replace the validateConfiguration call.
