Local fix

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Commerce users on V7.0 using workspaces who modify and
activate an existing promotion containing catalog entry
    promotions within task groups.

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Workspace Task Group appears in 'Commit Failed' state after
approval because of validation errors in promotions.

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
Customer can't create a promotion in production

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • On approval of a task group containing promotions that have been
modified, the approval process deactivates and reactivates
promotions that are part of the workspace. If there are
promotions involving catalog entry level promotions, the catalog
services will be called to validate the particular catalog
entries exist with any specified attributes.

The error results because the catalog services are called with
the store in the context and validation will fail. The fix
ensures the store context is established for catalog services
and also any validation error will not cause the approval
process to result in the task group moving to the 'Commit
    Failed' state.
