APAR status

Error description

• A common pattern is to include an e-Marketing Spot on the
  category display page where the name of the e-Marketing Spot is
  the category identifier. When the category identifier is greater
   than 64 characters, then an exception similar to the following
  appears in the log:
  
   com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlDataException: DB2 SQL Error:
  SQLCODE=-302, SQLSTATE=22001, SQLERRMC=null, DRIVER=4.14.113
  
   This occurs because the maximum length of an e-Marketing Spot
  name is 64 characters, but the maximum length of a category
  identifier is 254 characters.
  

Local fix

• Increase the length of the EMSPOT.NAME database column.

Problem conclusion

• This fix updates the sever side validation to allow an
  e-Marketing Spot name up to a length of 256 characters. This fix
   includes instructions on how to increase the length of the
  EMSPOT.NAME database column to 256 characters. There are also
  manual steps required to update Management Center to allow
  entering an e-Marketing Spot name up to a length of 256
  characters.
