Error description

• In case many shoppers browse one product at the same time and
  the inventory cache get expired in the meanwhile, it will send
  multiple inventory check requests to the sterling OMS even for
  the same SKU, which would impact the performance and bring huge
  pressure to the sterling server.

• USERS AFFECTED:
   Websphere Commerce users on v7.0 who use DOM inventory system.
  
   PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
   Duplicate inventory check requests go to the back-end inventory
  system for the same SKU.
  
   BUSINESS IMPACT:
   The DOM inventory system performance will be impacted.
  
   RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• With the code change, the first request will block the others
  until it updates the local inventory cache. When the lock is
  released, other requests will  learn the cache is up to date, so
   they will read the inventory in the cache and not to issue call
   to Sterling OMS.
