APAR status

Error description

  • When supporting multiple languages in a store, and there are
more than 50,000 URLs, the SitemapGenerate command should create
 multiple sitemap files as well as an index file.  Even though
the job reports 'successful' with no errors, only one file is
created.  In some cases, multiple files will be generated, but
this behavior is not always consistent.

Local fix

  • Limit your store to only one language.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
 WebSphere Commerce users on v7.0 with many URLs and multiple
languages supported by a single store.  Users with more
languages will be more heavily affected.

 PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
 When running the SitemapGenerate job with multiple languages
only one file is generated

 BUSINESS IMPACT:
 Sitemap file is incomplete which may affect search result
rankings on major search providers.

 RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • This fix allows SitemapGenerate to create a complete sitemap
file, and when necessary, multiple files by modifying the logic
around how multiple languages are handled in the SitemapGenerate
 command.
