JR46860: VISIBILITY RULE ISSUES WITH DATE AND VARIABLES NOT USED IN ANY COACH VIEWS

Version 8.5.0 Fix Pack 1 for the IBM Business Process Manager products

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• There are multiple issues with the current Date support in
  visibility rules
     1) need to store the value in canonical form e.g. UTC time
  instead of value --- otherwise the value could be interpreted
  incorrectly due to timezone, daylight saving time difference
     2) generated code has incorrect javascript syntax
  
  IMPACT:
     - visibility rule with Date will not work
     - not all variables are generated in certain conditions
     - lists for primitive types won't have the "contains"
  operator properly supported
     - incorrect modeled rules will not flag exception

Local fix

Problem summary

• Some coach views may not respect the visibility rules that are
  assigned to them in the coach designer.  Specifically, if a
  coach view has a visibility option that references a date array,
  or references a variable that is not used elsewhere in the
  coach, there may be some issues with how the coach respects the
  visibility setting.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available for IBM BPM 8.5.0.0 that fixes the code
  associated with the coach view visibility processing. On Fix
  Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for
  JR46860:
  
      1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition
  from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
  level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
      2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR46860, and click Continue.
  
  When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
  the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
  additional installation instructions and information about the
  fix.
