APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Cust modified/changed an IP FILTER to TNSERVER profile using the
Node Configuration Utility and applied the change to an active
node causing the TNSERVER functionality to stop.

PCS5954I : START NODE is issued from user xxx, station yyyy.
PCS3001E : Message logging function of Communication Server
           detected a system error - 1813.
PCS5501E : Nodeinit call for start_tn3270 returned
           tn3270_START_FAILED_ERROR.

Local fix

  • RESTART NODE.

Problem summary

  • The TN3270 Server terminates when adding a filter and applying
the changes to an active node.

Problem conclusion

  • The TN3270WN.EXE module was changed to ensure the TN3270 server
doesn't go down and the status of the TN3270E server is
displayed properly when adding a filter and applying changes to
an active node.

Temporary fix

  • SUPPLIED ON 6/30/2010
