APAR status

Error description

  • Once you have enabled Access Logging
    (http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wchelp/v7r0m0/topic/com.ibm.c
    ommerce.admin.doc/tasks/tseacclog.htm), when an authentication
    failure or authorization failure event occurs, information is
    logged to the access log file database tables: ACCLOGMAIN and
    ACCLOGSUB.
    
     Requests that are sent into the system via the web services
    framework of WebSphere Commerce are not logged to the access log
    file database tables, ACCLOGMAIN and ACCLOGSUB.
    
     In addition, the access logging framework will log the user who
    had authorization failures and authentication failures.  For
    authentication failures, the current user (who is typically a
    generic or guest user) is being logged, but it is is missing
    information about the user who they are trying to authenticate
    as.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
     WebSphere Commerce 7.0 users who have enabled the Access
    Logging feature of WebSphere Commerce.
    
     PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
     Requests that are sent into the system via the web services
    framework of WebSphere Commerce are not logged to the access log
    file database tables:  ACCLOGMAIN and ACCLOGSUB.  In addition,
    when Access Logging records failed logon attempts, it is not
    clear
    

Problem conclusion

  • Access Logging has been enabled for Component Services requests,
     so that they are correctly logged into the ACCLOGMAIN and
    ACCLOGSUB tables.
     In the case of an authentication failure, the ID of the user
    who was attempting to be authorized will now be logged, rather
    than the current user who was on the system during the
    authentication attempt.
