Error description

• If a customer segment is used in a promotion, the promotion
  logic will get all segment information of the shopper and check
  against the defined segment in the promotion rule. This results
  in an evaluation for all segments instead of evaluating only the
   specific customer segment defined in the promotion.

Problem conclusion

• The fix delivered by this APAR is to enhance promotion
  evaluation performance by changing customer segment validation
  logic.  Previously, if a customer segment is used in a
  promotion, the promotion logic retrieves all segment information
   for the shopper and checks against the segment specified in
  promotion rule.  This resulted in more segments being checked
  than was necessary.  The updated logic will only check the
  segments that are defined in the promotion rule.
