Error description

  • When the Purge and Archive service is executed against a large
    set of instance data, the purge operation performs too slowly.
    In an environment where new instances are being generated at a
    high rate, the purge  operation may not be able to keep up with
    the rate of new instance generation, which may negatively impact
    performance of other areas of the product that are sensitive to
    the volume of instance data (e. g. data movement service,
    dashboards).

    The purging process was purging one instance at a time, causing
    large delays when very large numbers of instances were
    scheduled to be purged.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Changing the purging process to enable SQL delete statements
    to execute against a large number of records greatly improved
    the efficiency of the process.
    
    An interim fix for WebSphere Business Monitor Version 7.0.0.4
    has been published to Fix Central.  Please refer to the
    separate file that is automatically downloaded with the
    interim fix for prerequisite information and
    installation/uninstallation instructions.
    
    For IBM Business Monitor Version 7.5 and higher, the issue
    will be resolved in future maintenance releases.
