Error description
Duplicate Connectors with invalid hostnames exist in the Datastage repository.
Local fix
n/a
Problem summary
Duplicate Connector objects existed in the repository before installation of Fix Pack 2. These duplicate Connectors were pointing to invlid Hostnames and were not linked correctly with StageTypes. This repository corruption is causing Fix Pack installation to fail and with a Java Null Pointer Exception while it is running the RewriteConnectorObjects utility.
Problem conclusion
The fix is to run a new utility that corrects the repository Connector objects before running the Fix Pack Installation. See this technote if the first Fix Pack installation failed: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21506569 This technote is required to 'reset' the Fix Pack installation prior to rerunning it. Otherwise it will fail again with different errors because the first Fix Pack installation left the system in a bad state.
Temporary fix
