Error description

• The ATTRVALDESC.VALUE field is defined as VARCHAR(254).
  Attempting to load more than 254 characters to that column
  results in a SQL exception in the DataLoad utility during the
  IdResolver phase.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce v7.0 users trying to load to the ATTRVALDESC
  table with values longer than 254 characters.
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  Attempting to load more than 254 characters into the VALUE
  column of the ATTRVALDESC.VALUE table will cause a failure in
  the DataLoad utility during the IdResolver phase, due to an SQL
  exception.
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Unable to load attribute data through the DataLoad utility in
  some cases.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  The input value is now truncated to 254 bytes to be populated in
  the ATTRVALDESC.VALUE field, while the full value (to a maximum
  of 2000 bytes) is kept in the ATTRVALDESC.STRINGVALUE field.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IdResolver function now truncates the VALUE to 254 bytes
  before resolving it.
