APAR status

Error description

  • When session timeout and activity termination (due to a shopper
    logging in from another type of browser) events occur at the
    same time, a temporary activity with an ID of 0 gets inserted
    into the CTXMGMT table. Further occurrences of this scenario
    result in duplicate key exceptions, preventing shoppers from
    performing any actions on the site, such as logging in again or
    browsing the store catalog. The shopper must restart the browser
    or clear the cookies to work around this issue.
    
    You may also fine the following exception in SystemOut.log:
    Caused by: javax.ejb.DuplicateKeyException: The statement was
    aborted because it would have caused a duplicate key value in a
    unique or primary key constraint or unique index identified by
    'SQL110623041244980' defined on 'CTXMGMT'.DSRA0010E: SQL
    State:23505,error code:20,000
    

Local fix

  • The shopper must restart the browser or clear the cookies to
    work around this issue.
    

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce users on v6.0 or v7.0 who use multiple
    browsers to log-on store front.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Shoppers are unable to log-on due to a DuplicateKeyException
    when inserting data into the CTXMGMT table.
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    User experiences will be severely impacted because of this
    issue.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing of the activity termination error is given precedence
    over procession of the session timeout error. The user activity
    cookie is reset. This makes the subsequent transaction create a
    new activity.
