Error description

  • For Management Center campaigns, activities and experiments,
statistics are gathered and stored automatically in a series of
WebSphere Commerce database tables on the production server. The
statistics gathering cannot be completely disabled, but
if you do not need them, you may disable the following:

    1) Web Activity statistics (e-Marketing Spot views and clicks,
    element counts)
    2) Dialog Activity statistics (element counts)
    3) Search Rule statistics (views, element counts)
    4) Experiment statistics (views, clicks, revenue, path counts)

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • See the "Additional steps to apply Interim Fix JR40671" for the
details on how to configure the components for which statistics
    should not be collected.

If you do not want web activity statistics (persisted in
    DMEMSPOTSTATS and DMELESTATS), then set
    disableCollectingWebActivityStatistics to "true".

If you do not want dialog activity statistics (persisted in
    DMELESTATS), then set disableCollectingDialogActivityStatistics
    to "true".

If you do not want search rule statistics (persisted in
    DMEMSPOTSTATS and DMELESTATS), then set
    disableCollectingSearchActivityStatistics to "true".

If you do not want experiment statistics (persisted in
    DMEXPSTATS), then set disableCollectingExperimentStatistics to
    "true".

The APAR does not disable any of the functionality of these
components of the marketing engine. It only disables the
collecting and persisting of the related statistics. All
evaluation of Triggers, Targets, Actions, Experiments, and
    Branches still occurs.

Note that the SaveMarketingStatistics scheduled job should not
be disabled. If it is disabled then the following functions will
    not work:
    - Setting the maximum number of customers who can participate in
    an experiment
    - The Best Sellers and Top Browsed web activity actions
