JR40348: BUSINESS OBJECT ERROR MESSAGE NOT DISPLAYED

APAR status

• Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

• Regression issue.  The "Error Message" is never presented in BPM
  7.5 for Business Objects.  Works in WLE7.2
  
  REPRODUCTION STEPS:
  
  1. Create a Business Type "DT_Description".
  2. Set the Type to String
     and Error Message to anything.
  3. Set the String Validataion to whatever you wish
  4. Create a human service which
  5. Now, if the uses a variable of the type "DT_Description"
  string validation is not met, the "Error Message" should be
  presented but instead we see "ERROR: Value is not valid"
  
  
  WORK-AROUND:
  1. Do post validation of the string using a serverscript and
  loop back to the original coach and display an error
  (use another variable for the error). So, in the human service
  we would have:
  
     Start --> Coach --> Script to validate -->
       If valid --> End
       If not valid --> Back to coach with error message.
  It's not as elegant as using the Business Object error message,
  but it will work.
  
  2. Do a validation script using the Events on
  the Text field. Essentially, you will do an onChange Event and
  can do an alert box with an appropriate message.
  

Local fix

• WORK-AROUND:
