Error description

• For customers with a large number of attachments, there is a
  performance and scalability problem viewing the list of
  attachments in the Assets tool.  The attachments will load
  slowly and in some cases the system will run out of memory.

  All WebSphere Commerce users on V6.0 FEP4+ using the Assets tool
  in management center.
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  Performance and scalability issues when large number of
  attachments in the WebSphere Commerce Management Center Assets
  tool.
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  
  The users of the Assets tool in management center will not be
  able to manage a large amount of attachments quickly without
  this fix.  It will take a long time to load and display the
  attachments.
  
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• Before:
  
  The web service used by the WebSphere Commerce Management Center
  (CMC) to fetch attachments, was fetching all attachments in the
  system (for the specific store) and then processing the list to
  return a subset (the requested paged items).   This is further
  compounded by the CMC trying to page this web service by calling
  the service many times, with paging parameters retrieving
  attachments in small chunks.
  
  With the fix:
  
  The web service was enhanced to load and return only the
  requested subset of attachments.
