APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DB2 9.1 does not start with SQL1042C on Windows 2000 after
applying FixPack 5 or later.
Users can find SQL1022C in Windows Application Event, and OSERR
1337 in db2diag.log like as below:

systems.

Local fix

  • Disable extended security during DB2 installation.

Problem Description:
DB2 9.1 does not start with SQL1042C on Windows 2000 after
applying FixPack 5 or later.

Problem Summary:
DB2 tries to use LOCAL SERVICE and NETWOTK SERVICE built-in
account, but the accounts are introduced by Windows XP or later
and Windows 2000 does not support them.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem was first fixed in Version 9.1 fixpack 8 (s090823)

Temporary fix

  • Disable extended security during DB2 installation.
