JR30718: A RESPONSE FILE INSTALLATION OF DB2 RUNTIME CLIENT DOES NOT REGISTER THE ODBC DATA SOURCES CORRECTLY IN REGISTRY (ODBC.INI)

APAR status

Error description

  • DB2 Runtime Client installation does not register the ODBC DATA
SOURCES correctly within Registry (ODBC.INI) during an
installation using a response file, which includes a client
profile and set up the ODBC Data Source for a database.

The external symptom is that the ODBC registry isn't set up
properly after installation,

ie the following registry is unset:
HLEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\<DBName>

which should have been set to  <InstallationPath>\BIN\DB2CLI.DLL

Local fix

  • Running db2cfimp <ClientProfile> manually from a DB2 command
windows after installation.
