APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Installing the FP1 for DB2 v9 on Windows always enables the
    Extended Security feature.  If the DB2 v9 GA was previously
    installed with disabled Extended Security, applying the FP1
    enables the Extended Security without asking.
    

Local fix

  • Use the db2extsec command to revert the changes.

Problem conclusion

  • First fixed in DB2 UDB Version 9, FixPak 3 (s070719).
    

Temporary fix
