Error description

• Environment:
  
  LogFile Agent 6.2.2.1 / Windows 2003 Server, 5724C04TG TEC GUI
  Integration
  
  Problem:
  
  In EIF Probe, the match string specified with "source FILENAME"
  in fmt file is sent correctly although "ﾾ" is changed to "/".
  
  On an AIX OMNIbus system in Japanese, the  backslash character
  gets displayed as a question mark.  The backslash character
  comes from the Logfile Agent where it was converted to UTF-8
  through TEMA ICU calls.
  
  On Japanese systems, the backslash character that Windows
  uses as a path separator displays as a Yen sign. However, there
  is also a separate Yen sign character in Unicode.  In UTF-8, the
  backslash ("reverse solidus") is U+005C, and the Yen sign is
  U+00A5, but both display as Yen signs (ﾾ).
  
  (This is being addressed via RTC 897: EPIC - Requirement 2621)
  

Local fix

• Workaround:
  ============
  1) Remove the setting of LANG and LC_ALL from
  nco_p_tivoli_eif.env
  2) Add the following to the logfile agent conf file on Windows:
        Pre37Server=YES
        Pre37ServerEncoding=shift_jis
  

Problem summary

• Set codepage 943 to 932 Event Integration Facility (EIF) library
  to handle " " .
  
  In Japanese Windows codepage 943, the backslash character 0x5C
  gets converted to 0x7F, which causes '\' escape characters to
  not be recognized.
  

Problem conclusion

• Japanese Windows codepage 932 does not have this behavior.  The
  TEC Enterprise Integration Facility (EIF) component, KEF, will
  change the codepage number from 943 to 932.
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:

Temporary fix

• 1) In OMNIbus, remove the setting of LANG and LC_ALL from
  nco_p_tivoli_eif.env
  
  2) Add the following to the logfile agent configuration file on
  Windows:

  Pre37ServerEncoding=shift_jis
