IZ85086: DFS REPLICATION EVENT LOG NOT SHOWN IN MONITORED LOGS VIEW

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DFS Replication event log for the Win OS agent (Windows
  2008) is not displayed in the Monitored Logs view on TEP.
  This event log can be activated for Windows 2008 machines and of
  course is expected to appear in this view of the Sistem
  Workspace of TEP.
  As a consequence of the issue with the event log not being
  displayed, the related Situations are not handled.
  Moreover, the drop down menu with the available options on the
  Log Name attribute (while creating a Situation) does not include
  the "DFS Replication" item, while it includes the "File Replicat
  ion Service" option only (which applies to the earlier OS Win
  levels).
  The available documentation (manuals) should be changed
  accordingly.
  
  DETAILED RECREATION PROCEDURE
  - Activate the DFS Replication service on a Windows 2008
  machine
  
  - On TEP display, select the System workspace for that machine
  
  - the DFS event log will not show up in the Monitored Log view
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The DFS Replication event log for the Win OS agent (Windows
  2008) is not displayed in the Monitored Logs view on the portal
  client.
  This event log can be activated for Windows 2008 machines and is
  performing the functions of the "File Replication Service" log
  in the previous Windows versions.
  

Problem conclusion

• The DFS Replication evenent log is now displayed on the portal
  client in the Monitored Logs view of the System Workspace.
  Situations can now be created also for the "DFS Replication"
  event log. The drop-down menu of possible logs for the
  situations, now contains also "DFS Replication".
