IZ84642: Unable to install ITM PX agent on AIX system AGENT SHOWN OFFLINE WHEN NFS-MOUNTED TMP ALSO EXISTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a tacmd addsystem is attempted on an OS agent on a computer
  that has local and NFS-mounted tmp directories, the install
  fails with the managed system showing as offline.
  
  
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  
  
  1. Make sure we have two /tmp directory on the remote endpoint
  machine,
  in this case it's AIX machine.
     This two /tmp directory, one is local, another is from
  another server
  was being NFS-mounted to this machine, and make sure the command
  "df -k
  /tmp' report two recorders like this:
  > df -k /tmp

  2. Run remote deploy any agent into this endpoint, or run local
  installation on this endpoint directly.
  

Local fix

• Unmount the NFS filesystem of /tmp directory, make sure there is
  only
  one available /tmp directory locally.
  

Problem summary

• AIX machines with remote /tmp directories mounted somewhere on
  the local AIX file system causes an install failure. The
  remotely mounted file system "remote:/tmp" is reported in
  addition to the proper local "/tmp" during a free temporary
  space check. This causes the install to fail with an error
  message.
  

Problem conclusion

• Modified install.sh logic to isolate the proper "/tmp" directory
  before checking the free space.

Temporary fix

• Unmount the external file system causing the problem before
