IZ81165: MEMORY FOOTPRINT VERY LARGE FOR LARGE WSDLS DURING PROMOTION

Subscribe

You can track all active APARs for this component.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Many instances of the WSDL document are loaded into memory
for each WSDL during promotion, this can lead to heavy memory
    use or even OutOfMemoryErrors

Local fix

  • NA

Problem summary

  • The capture code, which is used during export, upgrade, and
promotion, was requesting and parsing graphs for the elements in
a WSDL or XSD service which include the parent WSDL document and
its content. This resulted in many instances of the WSDL
document being instantiated in memory during a capture. This fix
removes the content from the graphs, so while the WSDL documents
are still instantiated, they no longer take up any significant
    footprint.

For some WSDL types, this fix will also provide a small
performance improvement during export, upgrade, or promotion.

Problem conclusion

  • This fix is expected in 6.3.0.4 and 7.0.0.3

Temporary fix
