    Problem Description:
    tacmd viewNode command could crash when large number of node are
    queried and a soap request fails. The problem is in the
    management of a failed request when the same request is splitted
    in multiple shorter requests.
    
    Recreation
    The specifc case, the customer had a managed system with the
    node name
    
    Primary: <=== Trailing ampersand
    
    The PMR ECUREP has a set of QA1* files which can be used to
    recreate issue.
    

Local fix

  • Determine the unusual node and delete the rows from TNODESAV and
    TNODELST. Recyle the hub TEMS and the issue will not be seen.
    

Problem summary

  • When issuing tacmd viewnode -l <myFavoriteMSL> and one of the
    Managed System Names in the Managed System List contains invalid
    characters '<', '>' and/or '/' , e.g. "Primary: <=== Trailing
    ampersand", the resultant SOAP query that is composed will be
    syntactically incorrect, the SOAP query will fail and in turn
    the  tacmd process crashes.
    
    With KBB_RAS1 setting of 'ERROR (UNIT:kui ALL)' the following
    sequence of trace messages will appear in kuiras1_*.log trace
    log ->
    
    <faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Client</faultcode>
    <faultstring>XML parse error</faultstring>
    <detail>1:196: not well-formed (invalid token)
    </detail>
    
    The above message sequence is indicative of a SOAP query that is
    syntactically incorrect.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Corrections to 'tacmd viewnode' were made to filter out any
    Managed System Names that contain the invalid characters,
    preventing the tacmd process from crashing.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance
